I am inspired by black women and their existence. My mom is black and seeing her relationship with my grandmother...they are just the strongest women I know. They are the foundation of the black community. They gave life to all of us. Behind every black man, there is a strong black woman.

I want to show the different shades that make up being black and focus on unity. None of these are specific people, but I wanted to showcase the collectivism in the black community. I want people to appreciate the black women in their life, or the black women they don’t know, or see from afar, and to take time to acknowledge that their existence does matter along with all the black men that have been killed too.⁣
