Oppression. The fact that people can treat me differently based on the color of my skin. It affects me in every part of my life.

The system is designed to keep black people at a low self esteem. We are told and shown in every way that we are not beautiful - that we need to be changed or altered to be accepted in mainstream culture/society.  

My mural aims to empower and uplift the beautiful nature we as black people hold within ourselves and bring awareness to the fact that we are so much more than the hue of our skin. We are infinite.”
