I want people to see beyond “black lives matter.” Black lives are precious and worth protecting. 

I don’t see a lot of representation of people who look like me - big hair, black girl - in the art around Madison. I wanted to change that. As I worked, I was happy to see young black girls walk past and get really excited by the image.
