I was here when things were on fire and doors were being smashed - we were in the tattoo shop. It was such a dark moment.
I wanted to use art to heal the crushed spirit of the city. This piece comes from a place of love and unity. I believe in color healing - the idea that colors affect the emotions. In this piece, red stands for "root chakra", symbolizing the grounded foundation to stabilize our society. The flower is blue to symbolize the “throat chakra”; it highlights that it's important to use our voices right now. The crown is purple to symbolize knowledge and unity. Having two color skin tones here represents unity as well.
